Abstract
Growth impairment and nutritional deficiencies, including rickets, iron deficiency, and kwashiorkor, have been reported in children with elimination diets based on real or perceived food allergy (RPFA).1-5 These cases demonstrate that the allergen avoidance diets required in FA management place children at risk for growth and nutritional problems. However, few studies have systematically investigated this concern.
