Abstract

A follow-up examimation of 36 anorexia nervosa patients treated on the internistic-psychosomatic ward of an internistic university hospital is reported. Thirty-three of the patients took part in the follow-up study personally. Information about the other three was obtained indirectly. For the evaluation of results Morgan and Russell's (1975) “global outcome score” and “general outcome score” were adapted. The mean period that had elapsed between the original and the follow-up investigation was 5 years 3 months. Of the cases, 80% (global outcome score) and 72% were categorized as “moderate and good,” respectively. Finally patients' evaluations of the individual therapeutic measures at the point of catamnesis are reported.
