Abstract

Objective: Follicular fluid proteins in endometriosis patients have been shown to be altered when compared to controls. We and others have shown that plasma and peritoneal fluid glycodelin levels are increased in women with endometriosis. Moreover, we have shown that glycodelin has angiogenic properties, at least, partly mediated by VEGF. However, VEGF has been shown to be decreased in follicular fluid of women with endometriosis. This prospective pilot study evaluated plasma and follicular fluid glycodelin levels in women with endometriosis undergoing IVF.
