Folkcommunication: a Latin American Approach for the Research of the Cultural Manifestations Dr. Marcelo Pires de Oliveira, Dr. Beatriz Corrêa Pires Dornelles, Dr. Cristian Yáñez Aguilar Abstract This article proposes an itinerary of the studies on folkcommunication, a theory that emerged in Brazil during the sixties, and that has been constituted as a conceptual and methodological contribution for the study of the cultural manifestations from the social communication processes, that incorporates the economic and technological challenges in which local and traditional communities are involved in Latin America. This article proposes a conceptual and historical itinerary of the different contributions that form part of this theoretical field that is increasingly growing, both in the Portuguese and Spanish speaking countries.
