Abstract

Folic acid,an essential microelement to human,is closely related to tumor development and progression.Recent studies have suggested that a low folate intake and impaired folate metabolism may be involved in the carcinogenesis of pancreatic cancer,but the specific mechanism remains unclear.In this paper we review the progress in the association of folate deficiency with pancreatic cancer from an epidemiological perspective,and introduce the progress in the mechanism by which folate deficiency causes tumor.
