Abstract

Researchers examined the associations between maternal folic acid and multivitamin supplements before and during pregnancy, and the risks of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in their offspring. They found that maternal use of folic acid and/or multivitamin supplements before or during pregnancy was associated with a lower likelihood of ASD in offspring compared to mothers who had no folic acid or multivitamin supplements before or during pregnancy.
