Abstract

Summary Venation pattern of Launaea asplenifolia have been studied. Launea exhibits an extreme open type of venation pattern. Study of venation pattern of other members of compositae reveals that Launaea can be selected as a starting plant from which a line can be traced through the members which show a tendency towards camptodromy to the members having craspedodromous type of venation pattern.
