Abstract

Abstract We present a detailed analysis of the 6 He elastic scattering on different target nuclei over a wide energy range within the framework of the double folding model using a phenomenological imaginary potential. We show the microscopic real potential generated by No-core Shell model density distributions provides good agreement in explaining the elastic scattering angular distributions. In this study we also present a new formulation depending on the incident energy and atomic charge of the target nucleus for the phenomenological imaginary potential and investigate the threshold anomaly in halo nuclei by analyzing the 6 He + 208 Pb system.
