Abstract
The Three Laws of Robotics made their debut in a story by Isaac Asimov, entitled `Runaround', first published in the March 1942 issue of Astounding Science Fiction magazine, edited by John W Campbell. Asimov was disenchanted with stock narratives about monstrous robots being destroyed when they turn on their makers.
