Abstract
Because the manipulation of fractions has been a source of confusion and difficulty for students, researchers have been investigating this topic for many years. This article presents some suggestions taken from research findings which may help elementary school teachers to improve the mathematics program. A list of selected references is included for those who wish to delve more deeply into the research findings.
