Abstract

Experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have just started. In addition to verifying the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics, these experiments will probe a new energy frontier and test extensions of the SM. The existence of extra dimensions is one of the most attractive possibilities for physics beyond the SM. This focus issue contains a collection of articles addressing both theoretical and phenomenological aspects of extra-dimensional models.Focus on Extra Space Dimensions ContentsMinimal universal extra dimensions in CalcHEP/CompHEP AseshKrishna Datta, Kyoungchul Kong and Konstantin T MatchevDisordered extra dimensions Karim BenakliCodimension-2 brane–bulk matching: examples from six and ten dimensions Allan Bayntun, C P Burgess and Leo van NieropGauge threshold corrections in warped geometry Kiwoon Choi, Ian-Woo Kim and Chang Sub ShinHolographic methods and gauge–Higgs unification in flat extra dimensions Marco SeroneSoft-wall stabilization Joan A Cabrer, Gero von Gersdorff and Mariano QuirósWarped five-dimensional models: phenomenological status and experimental prospects Hooman Davoudiasl, Shrihari Gopalakrishna, Eduardo Pontón and José Santiago
