Abstract
Instrumental and macroseismic focal depths of Swedish earthquakes show statistically a high degree of correlation. The majority of the earthquakes is located in the lower granite, probably associated with a low-velocity layer, whereas crustal discontinuities appear to be relatively less seismic.
