Abstract

To clarify the mechanism of magnetization reversal in Co-Cr perpendicular magnetization films, the authors studied ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) in the X-band (9.27 GHz) in films of various thicknesses. X-band FMR absorption under a field applied perpendicular to the film was attributed to the appearance of reverse domains in films; and FMR absorption under a parallel field in 0.02 μm thick film is believed to occur as a result of the prevailing demagnetization factor.
