Abstract

ABSTRACTA frequency‐modulated continuous‐wave (FMCW) transceiver of short‐range proximity sensor in sea clutter is presented. A higher rejection of sea clutter is achieved by employing an FMCW modulation. The FMCW transceiver has wide bandwidth, low phase noise, super linearity to detect a target in short‐range (some meters) against sea clutter having a radar cross section (RCS) relatively larger than that of the target. The performances of the proximity sensor are experimentally verified by an indoor test in a simulated sea clutter environment. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
