Abstract

A Combination of dynamic 1H and 13C NMR has been used to study the fluxonial behaviour of cryptands ( 3) containing ferocene units. The coalescence phenomena associated with these molecules are due to restricted rotation about the Fe-Co-N bond system and activation parameters are reported for this rotational proces. These are compared with activation parameters for rotation about the amide bond of 1,1′-metallocene-bis-amides.
