Abstract

AbstractThe interior permanent magnet synchronous motor traction system of rail vehicles usually needs to run above base speed. It is necessary to implement high‐efficiency flux weakening control of the traction motor. This paper presents one single current regulation square wave strategy, which can improve the dynamic performance of the flux weakening control of the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor traction system. By proposing a novel switching criterion and the modulation method, smooth switching between the maximum torque per ampere control below base speed and the square wave control above base speed can be realized. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.
