Abstract

The claw-pole linear pulse motor (CP-LPM) which is a linear version of a rotating PM type stepping motor has been developed by the authors. Inductor specifications in the CP-LPM are investigated. Measurements of flux density confirm the hypothesis that modifying inductor shape from rectangular to trapezoidal makes magnetic saturation difficult. Increasing pole pitch tau also improves magnetic characteristics.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
