Abstract
SummaryA multi-centre, computer based study of flurbiprofen was started in 1971 to provide extensive and regular clinical and laboratory data on patients with a variety of arthritic conditions. To date, 828 patients have been studied, some of whom have received flurbiprofen continuously for up to 3 years in dosage ranging from 75 mg. to 250 mg. daily. The cumulative evidence of objective and subjective clinical assessments indicates that flurbiprofen is an effective anti-inflammatory analgesic agent which is well tolerated by the majority of patients: only 108 patients have been withdrawn from the study because of side-effects and many of the patients were receiving concomitant therapy known to cause side-effects. Measurements of conventional haematological and biochemical parameters have revealedno untoward efects of flurbiprofen therapy.
