Abstract
Fluorous glycol derivatives 5 were prepared and evaluated as reagents for the protection of carbonyl groups for use in fluorous synthesis. The acetals formed from fluorous diol 5b (Rf= n-C 8F 17) with carbonyl compounds can be separated and purified by simple fluorous-organic extraction.
