Abstract

This talk will review some of the key change factors in the world, including social, economic, political and most importantly technological trends, and their relevance to life in the early 21st century.Also presented will be a personal perception of the current state of development of fluorine chemistry, and some of the perceived challenges for the future.A synthesis of these two thoughts will then be made to suggest, from an industrialist's view point, some of the potentially fruitful areas for future application of fluorine chemistry.
