Abstract

The experiments on reactivity of activated carbon with elemental fluorine and the pore structure of fluorination products were conducted for the improvement of wettability of oxygen electrode with activated carbon. As a result, it can be seen that the reaction of the activated carbon with fluorine is controlled not only by its geometrical shape but olso by the other factors such as surface properties, crystalinity etc. The pore structure of the activated carbon has become simple with fluorination because of the disappearance of the micropore.
