Abstract

Abstract— In a study comprising 306 children aged 4 to 12 years the use of fluoride tablets, in particular their daily intake, was found to be associated with reduced caries experience and increased utilization of dental services. However, because their use is evidently accompanied by improved oral hygiene and reduced consumption of cariogenic food, the caries reductions observed are probably not due solely to the tablets.
