Abstract
The fluorescence spectra of Eu 3+ and Tb 3+-doped YOCl, LaOCl, GdOCl, (La,Gd)OCl, (La,Y)OCl and (Gd,Y)OCl powder phosphors are reported and they are analysed by evaluating the colour coordinates ( X ̄ , Y ̄ ) and also the relative fluorescence intensity ratios ( R). The Eu 3+ : phosphors have displayed bright red emission ( 5D 0 → 7F 2) and Tb 3+ : phosphors green emission ( 5D 4 → 7F 5) under an UV source.
