Abstract

On the basis of synthesizing of water-soluble CdTe and CdTe/CdS core-shell quantum dots(QDs)by hydrothermal methods,this work studied the quenching effects of cytochrome c(Cyt c)to the fluorescence of CdTe QDs and CdTe/CdS core-shell QDs,as well as CdTe QDs to the fluorescence of bovine serum albumin(BSA),respectively,and clarified the fluorescence quenching mechanisms.The results showed that the fluorescence quenching effects of Cyt c to CdTe QDs were dependent on the QDs size to a certain degree,and the smaller the sizes of CdTe QDs,the stronger the quenching effects.In addition,the quenching effects of Cyt c to CdTe/CdS core-shell QDs are stronger than that to CdTe QDs,indicating the surface transfer mechanism of excited electron.The fluorescence quenching effects of CdTe QDs to bovine serum albumin(BSA)were through the way of relaxing the helix structures of BSA.
