Abstract
Abstract The addition of 3,5-dichlorophenol to carbon tetrachloride solution of tris(8-quinolinolato)aluminum(III) was found to cause considerable enhancement of fluorescence and to suppress the decomposition of the chelate by UV-light irradiation. The fluorescence enhancement was attributed to the association of the metal chelate with the phenol through hydrogen bonding.
