Abstract

In order to understand the movement process and characteristics of oil spill in submarine pipeline, a model test is carried out in the flume. The movement process and shape of oil spill from underwater to water surface are observed through experiments. The relationship between the characteristics of oil spill such as rise time, average movement speed of oil particles at representative point and oil spill diffusion width with different oil spill volume and different flow velocity is analyzed. The experimental results can provide a reference for the oil spill trajectory research and diffusion numerical simulation.
