BUCK, THE AUTHOR:formerly of Holt, Michigan, spent four years in the Air Force, upon completion of high school. He received his B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University in 1966. Prior to coming to work for NAVSEC, Hull Design, Code 6135, Mr. Buck was employed by the Lansing Board of Water and Light Co., in Lansing, Michigan. He is a member of the A.S.M.E. and Association of Senior Engineers in NAVSHIP. Mr. Buck has been the recipient of several honors, two of which are the John C. Niedermair Award, for the best paper at the A.S.E. annual Symposium, and an A.S.M.E. recognition for outstanding efforts and accomplishments in behalf of the A.S.M.E.
