Abstract

Abstract A technique for drawing cups being tested presently uses a hydraulic pressure to apply peripheral push on the flange, apply pressure in the die cavity to provide frictional support at the cup wall and provide excellent lubrication at the die radius. The blank holding force is provided separately. In this process displacement of the punch, the blank holder force and the counter pressure are controlled individually. A theoretical analysis and experimental results from the above hydraulic-pressure-assisted deep drawing process are presented in this paper.
