Abstract

Some recent trends in the investigation of high pressure phase equilibria of fluid mixtures will be treated in the present review particularly with respect to their application in Separation processes for organic Compounds under high pressure. The pressure dependence and the critical phenomena of liquid-gas, liquid-liquid, and gas-gas equilibria, the methods for their calculation and additionally some other physicochemical properties (η, D) will be briefly reviewed. Finally, the importance of phase studies in fluid mixtures will be discussed for some modern high-pressure methods of Separation (e.g., fluid extraction and supercritical fluid chroma-tography).
