Abstract

In the framework of the long-mean-free-path approach the fluid-dynamical model of the nuclear surface as a spherical Fermi-layer is formulated. It is shown that the model reproduces known results of Fermi-drop dynamics and permits the description of more low energy collective states in spherical nuclei. The quantum-capillary branch of low-lying surface excitations is predicted. The model gives an adequate description of both lowest and highest experimental collective energies.
