Abstract

The fluctuation contributions to the specific heat and diamagnetic susceptibility above T c in the Eliashberg model are enhaced by the factor (1 + 3 λ/2) for weak coupling λ ≪ 1 and 3(1+λ)/2 for λ ≫ 1 in comparison with the corresponding BCS and GL results. The retardation of the electron interaction via phonons is the reason why GL functional fails to describe the fluctuations in strong coupled superconductors.
