Abstract

With a resolution of ${10}^{\ensuremath{-}10}$ J/\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K the fluctuation heat capacity has been observed near ${T}_{c}$ in thin films of ${\mathrm{Bi}}_{0.4}$${\mathrm{Sb}}_{0.6}$. No indication of peaking was seen in the heat capacity near ${T}_{c}$. The heat-capacity transition when compared with the corrected resistivity transition is found to have approximately twice the width. This width is 3 times that predicted by Ferrell.
