Abstract

The anomalous behavior of the soft mode in the Raman spectra of the tris-sarcosine calcium chloride polar phase has been found to be in good agreement with the renormalization-group (RG) theoretical results in the short-range scaling region 10 K<T c -T<37 K. The values and the temperature dependencies of the bare soft-phonon damping constant and the order-parameter correlation length in the a-c plane have been obtained, along with the scaling indices v=0.630±0.004 and γ=1.21±0.06, from the RG formulas least-squares fitted to the Raman intensity data
