Abstract

The operation of a planar, transverse radio frequency discharge carbon dioxide laser using slow gas flow is described, with power output up to 430 W. The flow enhancement of laser power is correlated with carbon dioxide dissociation and with axial temperature, measured using an interferometric technique.
