Abstract
The flowering dates and maturation of the 13 main early-blooming Spanish varieties were determined. The blooming times fell into three groups: the earliest included ‘Desmayo largueta’, ‘Abizanda’, and ‘Asperilla’; a second group contained ‘Ramillete’, ‘Garrigues’, and ‘Peraleja’; and the latest-blooming group had ‘Marcona’, ‘Blanquerna’, and ‘Rumbeta.’ The varieties with the earliest maturation were ‘Peraleja' and ‘Ramillete’, while the latest-maturing varieties were ‘Blanquerna’ and ‘Rumbeta’.
