Abstract

CuO/CeO2 and CuO/CeO2-NiOcatalysts with the flower-like microspherical structure were prepared for theNO reduction by CO. The introduction of nickel significantly promoted the catalytic activity of CuO/CeO2. CuO/CeO2-NiO with the appropriate nickel doping amounts displayed an excellent catalytic activity of 100% NO conversion at 200 °C. Characterizations revealed that the reducibility obviously affects the catalytic performance. High (excessive) nickel doping amounts destroyed the flower-like microspheres structure, decreased the special surface area and reducibility, leading to the decline of NO elimination capacity of CuO/CeO2-NiO, of which the catalytic activity was nevertheless higher than CuO/CeO2.
