Abstract

AbstractAn analysis is presented for the nonsteady state problem of a well, pumping a constant discharge, and located at the center of a circular aquifer surrounded by a radial discontinuity. On either side of the discontinuity, the transmissibility and the storage coefficient are constant but may have different values from those on the other side of the discontinuity. The solution is obtained by using an approximate inversion formula for Laplace transforms. This method leads to a relatively simple set of equations which commonly requires only short computer time for solution.
