Abstract

The effect of the solid surface coating with the magnetic fluid layer on the free-stream flow structure and on the hydrodynamic drag force is investigated in this paper. The effectiveness on the influence of the magnetic fluid, held by the magnetic field, on the non-magnetic fluid flow is illustrated on the examples of a circular cylinder covered by the magnetic fluid layer and the flow in a sinusoidal channel, the walls of which are covered by the magnetic fluid.
