Abstract
The purpose of this note is to present such a framework, in an effort to indicate the possibility of effectively using programmable pocket calculators in practical problems of open channel hydraulics. All the programs cited, refer to the HP-25 calculator of Hawlett Packard which today could be considered as a rather old fashioned model having limited capabilities compared with the latest available machines of the same type. Nevertheless the employment of not an extremely powerful machine, furthermore emphasizes the possibility of a successful use of (perhaps more advanced) programmable calculators in other more complex problems of hydraulics.
