Abstract

Two buoyant units were equipped with six hydrophones and a seven-channel tape recorder. These units were sunk to a depth of 500 ft and released. The flow-noise spectrum was recorded in the frequency range 60 cps to 500 kc as a function of the position of the hydrophones and the roughness of the surface.
