Abstract

High-precision flow field reconstruction in small-scale waters within 1km has guiding significance for navigation and water resource management. In this paper, four bottom-moored coastal acoustic tomography (CAT) systems are laid in Huangcai Resorvior, Hunan, China on 1, March 2022 for a short-term observation. The double-point mooring method were used to reduce station drift, receiving all the six direct paths. The root mean square error (RMSE) between the inversion range average currents (RAC) and directly calculated RAC of nine typical moments are 0.036, 0.057, 0.008, 0.034, 0.010, 0.030 m/s for six path respectively. This proves the reliability of the reconstructed horizontal flow field, showing multiple bottom-moored CAT systems are feasible for high-precision horizontal flow field measurement.
