Abstract
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses were performed for an armored tank engine compartment cooling flow. Large hybrid unstructured meshes (2.5–3.0×106 cells) were constructed using the ICEM-CFD grid generator. The flow and convective heat transfer field were computed using an in-house CFD code, NPHASE. The commercial software package, RADTHERM was utilized to incorporate radiation heat transfer within the simulations.
