Abstract

Developments are reported in the construction and performance of flow calorimeters for the measurement of the isothermal Joule-Thomson coefficient of condensable vapours at low pressures and at temperatures between 310 and 430 K. Measurements are reported for benzene and cyclohexane; these confirm previous work for benzene and resolve a discrepancy for cyclohexane.
