Abstract

This work presents the taxonomic treatment of the Maprounea (Euphorbiaceae) in Bahia as a contribution to the knowledge of the flora of the state. The genus includes five species, three American and two African. Three species are found in Brazil, two of them in Bahia: M. brasiliensis and M. guianensis. Descriptions, illustrations, an identification key to species, comments about the taxa and a map of the species in the state are presented.
