Abstract

We conducted a taxonomic survey of the Tabebuia Alliance and tribe Jacarandeae (Bignoniaceae) for the state of Paraíba, Northeastern Brazil. For this study, we conducted: (i) 24 monthly field expeditions to collect botanical material; (ii) analyses of specimens deposited at the main herbaria from the studied area (CSTR, EAN, and JPB), Pernambuco (UFP), and Rio de Janeiro (RB); and (iii) analyses of images of botanical material available on digitized databases (Herbário Virtual REFLORA, INCT – Virtual Herbarium of the Flora and Fungi, TROPICOS). We documented five genera and thirteen species. For all genera and species documented, we provide taxonomic descriptions and identification keys, data on the geographic distribution, habitat, phenology, illustrations, and field photographs.
