Abstract
Procedures for the seismic qualification of equipment in nuclear power plants are discussed in this technical note. A procedure recently developed by Singh which allows one to generate floor response spectra for equipment directly from the ground response spectra for the structure, are considered in detail. Situations in which these procedures are not applicable are enumerated.
