Abstract
Many pre-school settings have a water tray always available, others can only use water outside - which can be a problem on cold winter days. Even if the children are not able to play freely with water inside, a bucket or a washing-up bowl could be used in a supervised activity provided that the floor is well protected. Check whether another area, such as the entrance, has a floor surface that is less likely to be damaged.
