Abstract

Thermal upwinds induced through mountains and valleys allow flights of hang-gliders over a long time or over a large range. In reality these flights include spiralling trajectories in thermal updrafts. We present new numerical results for several new thermal updraft models included into the threedimensional equations of motion.
