Abstract

The flight activity of honey bees, Apis mellifera L., leaving colonies was measured to evaluate the effects of Bidrin® (3-hydroxy- N,N -dimethyl- cis -crotonamide dimethyl phosphate), applied on Ladino clover, and to test flight activity as an indicator of insecticide effects on colony performance. Flight activity was depressed significantly, approximately 40%, on the second day after application. Bee mortality increased on the day of application.
