Abstract
This paper proposes a new flight control method of UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) using LED panels and video camera on UAV. In this method, the LED panel displays some patterns related to commands for UAV, and it also displays a blinking pattern for panel detection. From images of video camera on UAV, first, a panel detection process is performed. In this process, the frequency of green blinking is used as a cue of the panel detection. After that, patterns of commands are discriminated and UAV performs a task according to this pattern (command). In experiments, we perform the panel detection and discrimination process by using actual UAV and confirm the effectiveness of the proposed method for the auto flight control.
